About PULSA

Public Law Solicitors’ Association

PULSA has been in existence for over a decade, the brain child of a number of senior public law solicitors who felt there should be a space for public law solicitors to meet, discuss issues of concern and network.

We have been going strong ever since, hosting a couple of events a year, usually roundtable discussions for senior practitioners, under Chatham House rules, on burning public law and professional practice issues, as well as public interest and sometimes political issues facing public law solicitors.

We set out to discuss the issues that matter to public law solicitors, not just the law.

In this period, our members have lived through and come together to discuss issues such as austerity and access to justice, Brexit and constitutional change, technology and fairness, judicial review and human rights reform, the Covid-19 pandemic, the most important public law cases and election manifestos as they have impacted legislation and related administrative and constitutional law.

Who We Are

We are a group of people joined by a shared commitment to justice and the rule of law and a shared set of interests in public law.

Our members come from claimant and defendant firms, in-house in public bodies (including local and central government), NDPBs, professional regulatory bodies, academia and the third sector.

We all share a passion for our corner of the profession – and that which brings us together is greater than that which sets us apart.

Our Events

We work closely with the Administrative Law Bar Association (ALBA) and the Young Public Law Lawyers Group (YPLG.)
